It's official: Mifroma, with its brand Raccard, now holds the record for the world's longest raclette oven. The record-breaking oven measures exactly 101.25 meters, has 870 small cheese pans and is exclusively heated by 2,600 tealight candles.
The oven to beat all records was put together in Bern on November 30th of last year, to close the "Rendez-vous Bundesplatz" light and sound show in style. Close to 25,000 servings of Raccard raclette were served over a four-hour period, to some 20,000 visitors at the event.
A notary was on site to take all the necessary measurements. The certifications were then sent to Guinness World Records, which officially validated the record at the end of April, 2015. The oven is now listed in the Guinness database as the "World's longest raclette oven".
A highlight of Mifroma's 50th anniversary, this achievement is also part of the "Elaboré chez nous" ("Made here") program. This demonstrates the care with which Migros produces the majority of its rich assortment of products in Switzerland, in its own companies – including some star products like Handy dishwashing soap, Migros Ice Tea and Raccard raclette cheese, Switzerland's favorite.
