Acquisition of Bergsenn AG
Mifroma, an industrial company within the Migros Group, reinforces its expertise in the cheese industry with the takeover of Bergsenn AG
Bergsenn AG is famous for its mountain cheese specialities from the Swiss canton of Grisons. This acquisition will enable Mifroma to consolidate its position in the market and support the company’s aim to develop and promote the sale of Grisons mountain cheese in Switzerland and abroad. All jobs have been retained.
Bergsenn AG is the largest producer of mountain cheese specialities from the Swiss canton of Grisons. In the two cheese dairies run by the company in Savognin and Untervaz, cheese is produced daily using fresh milk from the mountains of Grisons, and is then transported to Bergsenn’s cellars where it is ripened and cared for by specialists. Some of the most popular varieties of cheeses produced by Bergsenn AG - enjoyed both in Switzerland and abroad - include the Savognin, Grisons and Alpes Heidi mountain cheeses.
Bergsenn keeps its name
The Migros group is already the leading customer for Bergsenn products today. Mifroma’s acquisition of Bergsenn AG will allow the company to continue its activities in very favourable conditions. All employees are retained. Bergsenn AG will also remain an independent company on the market. The company commits to actively developing the relationships forged with its customers and suppliers over the last decades.

Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
